Camp Life is a cornerstone of Family Legacy’s mission to bring hope and transformation to Zambia’s most vulnerable children. It is a powerful, week-long experience for both the children we serve and the volunteers who travel to Zambia to serve alongside of us. Year after year, children by the thousands and volunteers by the hundreds come together to experience God’s grace and transformation through His word and the power of the Holy Spirit.
At Camp Life, each volunteer is thoughtfully partnered with two Zambian team members to lead and minister to a group of 10 children through various activities, small group sessions, one-on-one time, and much more.
The children attending Camp Life may already be enrolled in our Legacy Academy Child Sponsorship program through which they are provided with education, nutrition, and discipleship. Other children may be brand new to Family Legacy’s program and will be exposed to the Gospel and an opportunity for an education perhaps for the first time in their young lives.

The cost for Camp Life is 100% tax-deductible and includes the cost for economy round-trip airfare, lodging, transportation, and all programming aspects. Camp Life 2020 participants are required to meet the contribution requirements listed below in a timely manner. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your trip.

From the time you sign-up to the time you land in Zambia, our goal is to help prepare you logistically and spiritually the best we can. In our attempt to achieve this goal, we have created one singular page on our website that will be continuously updated with helpful information regarding your trip. Camp Life Schedule
Saturday
Arrive at Lusaka airport, where you will be greeted by our friendly staff and taken by bus to our Legacy Center, where we will provide dinner and an informative orientation to help you know what to expect.
Sunday
Sunday begins with an opportunity to attend church with our Tree of Life children, followed by lunch. The afternoon will provide an opportunity to meet your two Zambian partners who will serve alongside you the whole week, followed by dinner, briefing for the following day, and evening share time in the villas.
Monday
Take an introductory bus tour of Lusaka including one of our private schools, then return to Legacy Center where Camp Life officially kicks off! You will meet the 10 children in your Camp Life group and enjoy our lively big group session with music, skits, and teaching, followed by small group time where you will have the opportunity to start building relationships with your 10 kids. Once children depart for home, you will debrief and pray with your Zambian partners, have dinner, and receive updates for the following day. Your evening will conclude with time to share your experiences with other Camp Life participants staying in your villa.
Tuesday
Your day will begin with a big group session and small group time, followed by several activity rotations such as playground time, clinic screening, coloring, photos, and one-on-one blessing time with each child in your group. Afterwards, you will have dinner, briefing for the next day and evening share time in your villa.
Wednesday
Wednesday starts with another big group session and small group time. Then it’s time for group photos and one-on-one blessing time with the 10 children in your group. After the children depart, there will be a tour of our Tree of Life Children’s Village where you will visit our wellness center, school, and houses which serve our children at the village. Alternatively, you can skip the tour and enjoy fun and games with the Tree of Life kids at the Tree of Life playing field. Dinner and briefing for the next day will follow, concluded by evening share time in your villa.
Thursday
Thursday is Community Day at Camp Life! After the big group session and small group time, you will depart for the community that your 10 children call home. With the help of your Zambian partners, your children will have the opportunity to share about Jesus with others in their own community using an Evangecube. That evening, dinner will be accompanied by special presentations from staff members followed by one last evening of share time with those in your villa.
Friday
On this last day of Camp Life, you will have one final big group session followed by a moving prayer and worship experience with your 10 kids. You will then present each child with a certificate describing their character qualities which they are sure to treasure. You will have a final opportunity to encourage your Zambian partners before dinner and departing for the airport for the return trip home.
